Welcome to the Palo Alto Stop Child Trafficking Now WALK!

Join us Sunday September 27th, 2009 @ 10.30am

Event details

Where: Trail from Gunn High School to Bol Park and back to Gunn High School
When:  Registration begins at 9:30am
Distance: 2 miles

We will be starting our walk outside Gunn High School and will be walking to Bol Park. At Bol Park, we will take a break and will pause for some refreshments for 30-45 minutes. Bring along your children, pets, Frisbee and football and enjoy the day at the park. We will then walk back to the starting point outside of Gunn High School. Parking: There will be parking available at 4001 Miranda Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94306.

REGISTRATION:
Registration will be open from 9:30am to 10:30am.  Please register at the Registration Table that will be setup in the parking lot of 4001 Miranda Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94306. 

What to bring with you to the Walk:

• Your Fundraising Page printed from the website. Even if you do not have any money to turn in at the Walk, EVERYONE MUST BRING THIS PAGE…this is your Check-In Form.  See below on how to access your Fundraising Page
• Any donations you have collected (these will be collected when you check-in…Please do not bring cash)
• Your walking shoes 
• We encourage Team Captains to bring signs with their team name 
• Team Captains – remember to wear your Team Captain T-Shirt to the Walk

How to Print your Fundraising Page:  

1. Go to:  SCTNow.org                      
2. Click:  Sign Up for Walk            
3. Participant/Team Search:  Type in your Name
4. Click on your Name
5. Print this page.  This is your Fundraising Page.  It has your name, Walk location and fundraising amount.

What you’ll receive at the Walk:

• A warm welcome
• Refreshments
• A SCTNow Walk t-shirt if you turn in $100 or more
• A SCTNow tote bag if you turn in $250 or more
• The knowledge that you have played an integral role in bringing an end to Child Trafficking!

If you raise $100 before Sunday, September 27, 2009, you will receive your SCTNow t-shirt at the registration table.  If you raise $150 before November 1, 2009 you will receive your t-shirt in the mail. If you raise $250, you will get a tote bag. If you raise $5,000 as a team, the team leader will receive a LCD TV.

WALK:

The walk will begin at Gunn High School please click here to see pictures of the route.  The Walk will commence at 10:30am at the intersection of Foothill Expressway & Arastradero Road in Palo Alto and will continue on to Bol Park.  The walk will finish between 12:30pm and 1pm.

Feel free to bring along your children, pets, Frisbee and football and enjoy the day at the park.

TRAVEL: 

We advise that you carpool together and arrive early as we have limited parking spots (35 spots) at 4001 Miranda Ave. However, we do have additional parking a block away at the V.A. Hospital.

FUNDRAISING:

As a city, we have raised $5,200, with more than an additional $1,500 being mailed in! The money raised will go to Stop Child Trafficking Now, who will use the funds to gather information on and convict child predators both in the U.S. and abroad.  Please learn more at www.sctnow.org.   Donations will be taken at Sunday’s event.  A donation table will be located in the parking lot of 4001 Miranda Ave, Palo Alto.
